Art & Science Co-Lab at Art Genève 2025: A Meeting Point for Creativity and Innovation
The Art & Science Co-Lab invites guests, participants, and volunteers to engage in this collaborative initiative and explore new perspectives at the intersection of art and science.
When: 29 January – 2 February 2025
Where: Art Genève, PALEXPO, Geneva (Exhibition Space)
--> From 29 January to 2 February 2025, the Art & Science Co-Lab will take place as part of Art Genève at PALEXPO. This collaborative initiative brings together art, science, and technology in a series of workshops, installations, and immersive experiences.
Organized in partnership with the United Nations, CERN, HUG, Addictlab, U4U Volunteers, ANASAEA, OK’TAVA Open Arts, and digital artist Maximilian Vermilye, the Co-Lab offers an opportunity to explore the interplay of creativity and innovation.
The theme aims to bring together these different approaches to create an interdisciplinary way of interacting with difficult concepts, allowing guests to immerse themselves in vastly different concepts. It exemplifies how art and science can influence one another and indeed work together through shared creativity.
CMS' Michael Hoch, interviewed about his work in newSpecial, and Ansar Iqbal are contributing their creations to this exhibition in the form of photographs and a virtual reality tour of CMS!

A highlight of Art Genève 2025 is the innovative focus on the intersection of art and science, spearheaded by newSpecial, a United Nations publication. Dedicating the final issue of 2024 to this rich topic and working alongside research leaders such as CERN and EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), newSpecial will create an interactive space that merges artistic creativity with scientific discovery. This environment will allow visitors to engage with scientific concepts through art, showcasing works inspired by groundbreaking research in particle physics and technological innovations. The goal is to illustrate how science can inspire art and vice versa, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration to address global challenges such as climate migration, meaningful integration of vulnerable communities into local society, and active engagement of the younger audience in the real-life/real-world experiences.
